Identify and Sort

Slawter By Darren Shan

Five main elements in my novel are the setting, suspense, characters, point of view and the theme.

This is the list that i have made of elements according to my importance for my engagement in your reading (most important #1).
                 #1- Characters
                 #2- Point Of View
                 #3- Suspense
                 #4- Setting
                 #5- Theme

Most of these elements have been used in my novel. For instance, the characters are really important in this book and it is written in there point of view (first person) so you understand them more better and connect with them more. Also this book is full of suspense and and you never know whats going to happen next, and whatever happens is always going to surprise you or blow you away. The setting also is a key component in this book but it doesn't play a big role. Lastly, the theme isn't too big in this book. I mean this book is about demons killing people and there really isn't a message or theme written in it. It doesn't ruin the book but it just doesn't play a big role like the other 4 elements. That is how these 5 elements play a role in my book.

First Post

Three qualities that I suspect from a good book is a good story, suspence and a good ending that wants the reader wanting more.If a book has a really good story, then I cannot stop reading it. It also has to be suspenseful (meaning someone might have to die) but the suspence cannot be obviouse, it has to come up out of no where so the reader is surprised and keeps reading on. The last quality is a good ending. Usually if a book is really good, then the author should make another, such as harry potter. Anyway, the ending should have a beautiful twist that no one see's coming such as a death, a new life or something wierd that makes the reader wanting more. That (in my opinion) is three good qualities that a good book should definitely have.

The three books I have read so far have definitly shown these 3 qualities. For example, the first book I read (witch was Skud) had a big twist at the end. One of the main characters died and that wanted me wanting more (i was also very surprised and did not see it coming). The same happened in the third book I read ( slawter) another main character died. A like books with twists and surprises and so far all the book I have been reading have twists and i really am enjoying them.
