In my opinion, the quote by Henry Ward Beecher (quote 1) means that everything can be achieved by a person who believes in themselves. This means that a man does not need to get power by showing off his guns or by killing people and showing them how much money and riches he has. True power is always within someone who does good. This quote is from the good side of power. It shows a person the right way to get power and not to go out and start killing people to show how strong you are. This quote leads a man in the right and respectful way.

In my opinion, the quote by Darth Vader (quote 2) means that you should never underestimate someones potential and anger or what they believe in. These types of quotes show anger and lead a person to evil and to do wrong things. People who believe in quotes like this are usually lead in the wrong way. This is the "bad" side of power. Like I said before, this quotes usually helps leads a persons decision to "the dark side of the force". Power like this is used for evil and scare others. An example of this can be a bully who shows that he has more power than you.
I think you have a good understanding of the two sides of power - the positive internal power (that maybe comes from wisdom, empathy, compassion, courage etc....) and the power over others (in a negative sense).
